Previous Post Next PostWith all of the free time we now have, many people are turning towards home improvement projects. It may be tempting to tackle a big room first, such as the kitchen or living room, but it’s best to start small and get some practice in before you rip apart the rest of the house.
Sprucing up your vanity, or space where you get ready each morning, is an easy project to tackle and can make a big difference in your daily routine. Try the following tips out to help you organize and redecorate your space.
Organize, organize, organize
Between makeup, nail polish, and other beauty tools that you use each day, chances are your vanity may be a bit messy. Organizing everything can make your space look clean and polished.
Try using jars or canisters to hold things like makeup brushes and longer beauty tools. For tools or accessories with metal on them, you can also use magnetic strips to create holding spaces inside your vanity drawers or even use a magnetic board and hang it on the wall.
There are plenty of organizers you can buy on Amazon, but if you want to get creative, head to the kitchen. Ice cube trays and popsicle molds can hold small beauty tools or makeup, while utensil organizers can fit inside of drawers and hold larger items.
Add decorations
Decorating the space helps bring your personal style to the area. You can stick to the themes of beauty and getting ready by adding items like elegant perfume bottles, or even displaying some of your favorite jewelry.
Plants, whether they’re real or fake, help freshen up the space. Succulents don’t take up much space and require little care, making them a good choice for smaller vanities. If you feel like splurging, fresh flowers bring a clean scent and will be enjoyable to look at while getting ready each day.
If your vanity is placed against a wall, spend time decorating that area too. Add a mirror if you don’t already have one and try hanging some of your favorite wall art.
Choose comfortable seating
If you’re sitting at your vanity everyday, you’ll want to be sure to choose a seat that’s comfortable and stylish. Whether you choose a chair or stool, it can help pull the entire look together.
Velvet chairs are an elegant, but relatively inexpensive, option and come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. If your vanity and your decor is in more muted tones, the chair can help bring a pop of color. If you have more color or patterns in your vanity and decor, you may want to choose a more neutral-colored chair.
Select the right light
Lighting for your vanity area is essential. If possible, try and choose natural lighting, but if your vanity is in a darker area of the house, there are plenty of options.
Lighting that mimics natural light is the best choice, such as Brilli’s Charge Up collection. These bulbs help increase energy and alertness, which is ideal if you’re sitting at your vanity in the morning. These bulbs are effective at suppressing melatonin, which helps regulate your circadian rhythm when used during the day.
Another option is Brilli’s Look Up Mirror This lighted mirror is designed for wellness and beauty—turn up the brightness to wake up in the morning and have the right light for applying makeup. At night, you can turn it down when doing your evening routine and getting ready for bed.
